Had the S-Type booked in for a major service and cambelt today, booked it two weeks ago with a courtesy car being supplied. Travelled there today (Jaguar Main dealer) about 15 miles away, only to be told they do not have a courtesy car for me, but they can drop me at home.

Explained I have a lot to fit in today and tomorrow but got a 'not a lot they can do'. Also they didn't tell me about the £15 insurance for the car , and the service was £40 more than it should have been, Wasted my time and diesel.

can anyone  recommend a garage for Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire area ?

Hi Gary,

I gave up on Main Dealers years ago and now always use E&E Services (Jaguar Specialist) 38 Tanners Drive, Blakelands, Milton Keynes MK14 5BW, Dave & Mark are Jaguar Trained Technicians and do a great job - with a free Jaguar loan car and reasonable rates too! - Give them a call on 01908 218875.

Regards

Kevan

Well car is in at the main dealer now, they did some apologising and grovelling , still no courtesy car but i said i would manage today. Lets hope their work is better than their customer service, fingers crossed

Got the car back, they did a good job and gave me a good discount as way of an apology , car a lot smoother and quieter now.

Hi Gary.

Pleased to hear you're happy with the outcome.

Can I ask? Was it cheaper to have a full service and cam belt change done together? As apposed to booking the car in twice?

I'm due a service in July and a 10 year cam belt in march. Just wondered if I should get the belt changed when the service is done.

No cheaper together, I did it for convenience and both were due, both were Jaguar  fixed price servicing, £375 for cambelt and £329 for major service. There was a bolt on a pulley which had to be drilled out and then replaced but as fixed price didn't cost extra. I must admit they have done a good job and car came back very clean and polished looking. Plus the bit knocked off for messing me around also helped

Thanks for the info. Think I'll just get the service done for now then.
