Thanks Peter Spring 2008 makes sense as it coincides with the launch of the new XF But I too was led to believe December 2007 was the last S type run

HI David,

I have just found, in between cutting the front hedge, that Jaguar produced 11050 s types in 2007 and none in 2008 but did sell them till spring 2008.  Having been somewhat involves in the automotive industry the usual practice when a new model was replacing an older model was to have some of the new ones ready for the launch and stop building the older model a few months before that.  I would guess  that the last s types came off the line in about November so that the line could be tooled up for the XF.

Regards,

Peter.
