Central locking fault

Hi guys n gals,new X Type owner here with a problem. The central locking ceased working yesterday,so only currently able to lock from the outer door lock on drivers door.

Had a new key fob battery fitted,checked the fuse,which wok,and attempted to "pair" the key to the car,but no luck.

The only way to access the boot is with the engine running!!!

Has anyone else had/having the same problem,if so,what is the cure please?
