I changed from Pirellis to Goodyear Asymmetric which i find very good, it depends on what price you want to pay and also what rating you want for on wet roads,fuel economy,noise level. Go onto some of the comparison sites to check out ratings, some tyres have a rim protector that comes out past the alloy rim.

Thanks for that Tom, I have read some reviews but most have left me still somewhat bemused. Guess it's down to personal choice and as you point out how much I want to spend.
