Snapped a plastic connector

Featured Replies

Managed to break a connector that plugs into a t-piece at the front of the engine whilst removing the inlet manifold on my 3.0, think it's part of the cold start system, it goes from a black plastic multi port jobbie to the expansion tank, for the life of me I can't find it anywhere, lots of people mention it in explaining how to remove the manifold and be very careful you don't break it as it's easy to do, well I did and it is,but does anyone know the part number?

Sorry nobody has got back to you Eric, I don't know the part number or even the part you speak of without researching it! I'm hoping to have the bonnet up later so I'll have a look, but suggest the 2nd hand route is probably the way to go. A breaker won't need the part number, just describe what it is etc

Yes, it'll be sorted soon, it's the return to the expansion tank and I've located a few, just waiting for the breakers to supply the correct inlet manifold , on number four now :(

Well done Eric, glad you're getting it sorted. Can't believe it's been such a chore! As far as I'm aware there were only 2 version of the inlet / induction on the 3.0 AJ6, but perhaps you have found out otherwise?

Oh I know now 😁

the first was correct but had damage on the rear corner, the second was the wrong one with the one piece gasket, the third after I supplied a photo was a copy of the second, the fourth had been butchered by hacking through the looms, now awaiting with baited breath on number five 😭
