Parkbrake modual

Hi just changed the parkbrake modual as it was faulty ,just want to no if you have to recalibrate it as ive read that it should disengadge when you put it in drive mione dosent  i have to release it with the button .I have a 2002 s type se 3lt auto any advice will be very handy thanks

Try pressing brake pedal then pulling up handbrake switch a few times that should sort it
