Stick-on chrome pillars

Featured Replies

Hi, I have just posted this in the Members Forum not realising there is a dedicated x-type forum. Now I know.

I posted this:

Since posting my last post regarding the removal of the external door B-Pillars on my 2005 x-type (which are not rusted but very badly scratched and gouged after a vandal attack), I have come across chrome stick-on ones that cover the existing pillars.

They come as a set of six which includes the rear quarter light posts and costs around £60 plus postage.

Having not seen them up close and personal, what is the verdict on them?  Can you tell they are stick-on?  Would they survive a hot summer which could affect the adhesive holding them on?

Are they durable? Do they look cheap?  Would they make a good substitute to having them removed and re-finished/ replaced at a cost of around £201? Would you recommend them?

I would appreciate the opinion of anyone who has used them.

Many thanks.
