Hello

I have a 2012 XF premium luxury 3.0 diesel.  I purchased a Sat Nav update from Here, it is the correct one, a 'Jaguar Gen2.1 HDD Europe 2017'.  The install has got to the point after about 12 hours driving where it says 'Uploading map data...' and sometimes 50%.  It is clearly stuck and the messages come up with or without the memory stick in the USB socket.  'Here' have not been able to help; has anyone else had this issue or know how to sort it please?  Guidance would be much appreciated thank you.

Hi. Sorry to hear your having trouble with your sat nav. When I first bought mine, second owner, I popped the disk out of the drive in the boot. More to see what it was than any other reason. When I put it back, the sat nav would not work.

Me being me I took the drive out and took it apart. The arm that scans the disk was stuck. I cleaned the arm and the bushing with isopropyl alcohol and it all freed up and worked.

One year on it's still working. Not for the feint of heart but I managed it.

Ps it was out of warranty

good luck

Hi Robb

Thanks for your prompt and helpful reply.  Where will i find the disc drive in the boot please?  Good luck with the paint, not for the feint hearted!

Interesting question ?

I assumed your drive for the sat nav update was in the boot. Left hand side. Black cover over the drive matching the boot material.

Im wondering if your car doesn't have a separate drive !!

just an end user. Not an expert.

The paintwork !! Having spent a year trying to polish it, I just bought a machine polisher, watched a lot of you tube videos and I'm having a crack at it. Very pleased with the results so far. Not too pleased with what paint I have to work with. Jaguar did not do the best of job spraying my car !!

Thanks Robb, no, I cant find it, probably all done through the USB, looking increasingly like a trip to Jaguar.  Good luck with the polisher.

I have the same problem now with USB Map update 'Jaguar Gen2.1 HDD Europe 2018'. Did you find a solution to your problem? I already went to Jaguar but they couldn't help me. They  said the navigation unit was broken, proposed to replace it for €3000.
