Hi Guys,

Just wanted to let all the UK s-type owners know about a great way to save some cash if you have a repair come up.

I recently joined the AA and took out their breakdown parts cover, it costs me £19 a month and I am covered for 5 repairs a year up to £500 each. The reason I'm posting about it is that I've just had to claim on it and it's surprisingly easy.

I had a coolant leak on the way home from work, so I called out the AA patrol and he suggested it maybe the water pump and couldn't fix it so, he said to take it to a garage. I did and I've just had the water pump replaced for the grand total of £35 (which is the excess payment)

The mechanic told me this is a £300 job usually so I got out of paying that thank goodness!

Might come in handy if you are worried about garage bills.

Hi Jamie

I have that 'bolt on' on my membership for a few years now, although you may go a few years paying the extra for nothing, it has come in handy a couple of times for me, a battery £110 counter price, cost me £35, and a new part for my coolant system, supply / fit /  drain - refill etc circa £200, cost me £35 definitely come in handy

regards

Steve
