I have an XF S 3.0 diesel on an 09 plate.

It has developed a whining noise on acceleration, which I have been advised is coming from the differential.  Answers to the following would be appreciated:

Is this something that needs to be fixed?

Will it get worse?

Could this be a symptom of low  lubricant?

Hi Paul,

In answer to your questions

Yes

Quite possibly

Definitely worth checking because if that's all it is sorting it will save you a small fortune.

I have a whining noise when I let my 2009 Jaguar XF sit and warm up.  My car just got flushed out because it was overheating and the repair shop stated they seen leaves or something restricting the holes.  The car now makes this whining sound but no more overheating.  What could this be?  I appreciate all feedback
