Hello all, I’m Alan and I’ve just become the owner of MJ04 RHX, a 2004 S type 3.0 se in black, and my first ever Jaguar. What an amazing machine! I’ve included the reg no. because there is a Jaguar Owners Club sticker in the rear window and I’m hoping the previous owner recognizes it.

Anyway, the car is on 102,000 miles and apart from a few minor body blemishes appears to have been very well cared for. I’ll see if I can work out how to post some pics.

Thank you Bill, I’m looking forward to learning all about the S type now and I’m sure I’ll have loads of questions as time goes on.

My car has already been named Black Shadow by my Daughter.

Hello Bill, yes I’m discovering just how nice the S type is. I was actually looking for the XJ, but my brother sent me the link to this car and the rest, as they say, is history.

So far I’m thoroughly enjoying the car, the 3.0 litre engine is as smooth as silk.

As you will see from my own 'newbie' post, I have just let my S-type go after 12 years.  I have to say given my current scenario I miss it even though it has a few areas requiring attention.

Mine too was the 3.0 - and the SE refinements were in a league of it's own for it's age.

Couldn’t agree more Phil, it’s a beautiful machine, even for being 15 years old.
