Hi all, went to go out in the jag today and got an error message on the dash which is ECU. I have a pic to see if anyone can give advice on what it is and the cost to get it sorted out. Only had the car a few months so getting it looked at under warranty but would still like some feed back if anyone knows. Thanks.

Hi all, after getting the car down to the garage I found out its the eco that's the fault not the ecu as first stated. They are looking at the car now so hope to post up what the fault was and the fix for future reference.

Hi

Usual cause of this is you pressed the button on the dashboard to disengage the stop/start, but presume you have ruled that out as it should reset to operating and clear the icon when you re-started. Low battery is common reason for S/S not working.

Up date all be it late. The problem was caused by the break vacuum sensor breaking down. Sounds a bit strange but they changed the sensor and all good now.

Actually does make sense. Restart is triggered when you release brake pedal so presumably the sensor is the "swirch" to tell the car that you have released the brake and a restart is needed. 🙂

Your right it makes sense when you think about I suppose. I can tell you when they told me it didn't as I thought how but on reflection yes it is the break pedal so the sensor would be the issue.
