Hello to everyone, I have just joined.

I have an x type 2002, 2.5 auto, which has been in the family from new, currently about 51000 miles on the clock.

I have a fault code reading P0037 H02s heater control circuit low bank 1 sensor 2.

My question is, which is sensor no. 2 please? I understand bank 1 is nearest the bulkhead, but why does everyone say that no. 2 sensor is a 'downstream' sensor, yet then proceed to post schematic drawings, pointing out that no.2 sensor is just below the manifold, before the cat??

Surely that makes it an upstream sensor?

So for clarity, is sensor 2 the one with the grey plug which apparently goes just under the exhaust manifold, or the one with the black plug which apparently goes in to the cat?

Very, very, confusing!

A simplistic, fool proof, cast iron answer would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi Joe...… Thanks a lot for that.

I have no idea why every other schematic is apparently wrong, compared to that one.

Cheers.
