Ignition completely dead except for side lights on and hood in part open mode - Story so far - So I am the proud owner of a XKR 4.2 Convertible and have owned the car for 3 plus years. Washing the car and with teh hood half open we stop the process to clean out the hood mechanism and unblock the drainage holes. At this point I am assuming we have managed to get some water in to the electrics some how, as the cars roof will not now power open to the full position, we have no ignition and the side lights stay on. The key fob will beep but won't reset the car.  The car is currently sat on the driveway with the hood manually closed the windows down and the car unlocked as nothing works. I disconnected the battery and waited some 10 minutes - nothing changed when I reconnected it.

Not sure how to approach the process of finding out what has gone wrong. I have removed the back seats where teh XK has one of the three fuse boxes - its dry and the fuses are not blown.  What I don't understand is the car ignition is simply dead......so nothing other than side lights which I cannot turn off.....

I know that I have power in the system but nothing showing.  Does the XK have a power module and can anyone provide some guidance on how best to approach the issue. Thank you and regards
