Hey Guys, about to buy my first XE: https://www.topgear-carsales.co.uk/stock/used-cars-in-gillingham-kent?make=bca5dd4f-406b-4287-9507-a09b00e6baf2&model=&pricerange=0%2C31000&VehicleType=any-type&version=&color=

Really like the look of it, wanted a Jaguar for quite a while now and finally can afford one - i have a question though regarding reliabilty. Ive heard from a few car review sites that they can have some issues with electronics. Going from a ford fiesta 2011 that has nver gone wrong to a quite expensive car dont wanna go down a hole of repairs.Just thought id reach out before i buy and see what you guys think / what your experiences are.

Thanks in advance

H.

All i can say is that I have had 3 XF`s, all bought new and have had zero problems, electrical or any other. From what I hear the German opposition are far from reliable and I would go with the Jag. I have driven an XE several times and you will absolutely love it  The car handles better than anything in its class bar none and your will have a smile on your face for sure.

Bought a 2016 XE AWD in 2019 and had no bother with it at all, the performance from the 2.0l 180 diesel is good without being outstanding, the economy is outstanding 50+ mpg. Not really a car for the home mechanic, unless you are a bit of an electronics wizard but as Nigel correctly says driving this car always puts a smile on your face.

Thanks both! ive decided to go ahead with the purchase, im very excited gets deliverd tomorrow! Thanks again for coming back appreciate it - put my mind at ease.

Bought mine (a 17 Plate 2.0 AWD R-Sport) Used Approved back in 2018. It's had a few niggles but i'm currently looking at a new bonnet as it's failed and not covered under warranty. After some hassle, the dealer/JLR have agreed to and 80% contribution but nobody seems to think a failed bonnet is a manufacturing defect - it's a'panel alignment' issue.

Also the battery is knackered despite always disabling the S/S - tha't normal wear and tear sir... Please give us £440 for a new one fitted!

Not impressed to say the least.

Might be a bit late in replying but I love my XE 250 R Sport 2017 Petrol. Had the car for two years with no problems electrical or mechanical.  Find downloading updates to the Pro system a bit of a faff but that's it.  On a good run get about 40 mpg around town or short runs it goes down to about 30 ish.  Must be my heavy foot!!
