Hi all.

I can't start my xj8 exec. The problem appears to be in the alarm immobiliser system.

I'm desperate to get the car on the road as, during the lock down, I decided to restore the car. All's well until I tried to start it up to take it for MOT.

As Soon as the battery is connected, key not in the ignition yet, the alarm activates and is not responsive to the remote.

I had a similar problem some time ago but it cleared itself after a couple of road runs.

This time, however, no such luck. In addition all of the warning lights are scrolling constantly. I changed the key control module, no luck, I did find a small amount of corrosion in the security

module, Verdigris, cleaned it out, No luck.

I'm a member of green flag but they won't come out to a vehicle that has no MOT.

You can see the catch 22 situation I've no doubt.

Auto electricians are also not interested. Can any body offer help or advice Please!!!!!!?

Meanwhile the car is on stands and looks so forlorn with it's new paint job just waiting for a bit of attention.
