Electric Handbrake

The electric handbrake on my2007 s-type does not release

hi

need to plug in with Jaguar ids/sdd to see what the problem is, most code readers only read engine ecu and thats it, jaguar ids/sdd reads every module, give you fault code, what to check and remedies.

but its going to be either a bad module, if your boots damp, pull the module apart if theres water staining its no good, or epb motor, usually a break in the wiring if its hanging loose and flaps around, or bad hall sensor in it, or stiff hand brake cables, a low battery can cause loads of problems aswell, make sure its fully charged.

theres a procedure for driving the epb on and off have a look here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xebdRYwtjE

cheers

Joe
