Intermittent drivers window

Hi,

I have a 2004 xj6 with an intermittent drivers window. It may take 5 or 6 presses of the switch and it will drop 4 or 5 inches, same thing for the next 4 or 5 and so on. Its the very same process to close it. 

Has anybody had this problem or can anyone point me in the right direction?

Not seen or heard of this on an XF but maybe better deleting post and putting in the XJ section for a better response.
