XF 2.7 2008 - Prem Lux Diesel, shudder under acceleration when warm.

Featured Replies

Hi

My 2.7 XF (2008) has developed what I can best describe as a shudder when accelerating, particularly up an incline but not necessarily, if I back off a little or press the throttle it goes away.

I have had suggestions of low ATF or poor quality ATF.

It does not sound like the typical quick “grrr” sound of a slipping torque converter clutch glazing symptom, more like a clutch shudder on a stick shift.

Anyone come across this or have any wise insight?

tx

Agreed

Old or low oil. Get the correct stuff and go for thar first - it’s going to be waaay the cheapest…

Next is the super expensive bits, namely, torque converter or worn g/box clutch plates
