Hello!

When I bought my little X-Type (“SuperKitten”, hence the user name) the various forums were really helpful and myself, SuperKitten, and my then-toddler enjoyed some lovely real life events too. Sadly SuperKitten’s gear box is not healthy so I am looking for a new cat. Now the child is (just!) tall enough not to need a car seat I could pop them in the front and not need viable back seats any more…

So, my question is – does anyone (any other working single mums?) drive an XK coupe as their sole car? Is that remotely practical in a city? I’ve driven in central London my entire post-17 life and never anything smaller than an X-type so the size itself is not an issue but boot space/ability to open doors etc might be?

It would get some longer runs in the ~2k odd miles I do/year but have to live outside (off street at home, but frequently on street too). Would that be too cruel?

Any and all opinions very welcome!

SK

I just purchased my first Jaguar 12-22-22 and love my new xk. Had planned on selling my other car but now having second thoughts. On my way home (425 mi.) the water pump went out. A week before I could get in at the local indy European mechanic three days waiting for parts and $1200.(U.S.) Made me very happy to have the other car. I think I'm gonna keep the second car, at least for awhile.
