Brake wear light on!!

Featured Replies

Gentlemen, today my brake wear light has come on, so I need advice / recommendations for which make of pads to fit, I've seen some come with sensors some don't, is it good practice to replace discs at the same time? Are there any pitfalls I may encounter when changing them? Are there only sensors on the front brakes as they take the most punishment?

Any advice, help or recommendations will be gratefully received.

Regards Baz.

Hi Baz, front left and right rear is where the sensors are. Changing the discs is only necessary if they are scored or down to the wear limit. As for pads, the choice is endless. I personally go for what was fitted at the factory.

If you do it yourself you will need a 7mm or 9mm Allen key.

Jim yet again thank you for a quick and useful reply, I've just watched a YouTube video of how to replace them, the only thing it didn't make clear is how to change over the wear sensor..does it just push out and then push back in again ?

Regards Baz.

Yes, just a push fit.

Another discrepancy Jim. Europarts saying this is correct for my car, going off the Reg. Disc Dia. 355mm. While Jaginfo.org states all discs are the same size 326mm. Which do i believe????

Take a ruler and you’ll be able to get a rough measure of the ones you have then simply get the same.
