XF 2.2 EGR valve clean

Featured Replies

Warning light has come on, been reset and back on again. Fault code says EGR valve. Having checked the interweb there isn't much to say where to squirt some cleaner to try and clean it out (Wynns Diesel EGR 3). Has anyone had any experience of this please. Thanks in advance

If the warning lamp has come on then I suspect that it will need to be removed and cleaned physically rather than just a liquid cleaner. AFAIK, you add the cleaner fluid to the fuel. The problem is that the EGR only opens up from around 1700rpm, so you'll just burn it mostly all away in normal driving without it entering the unit, You might like to consider an EGR delete (I have done that and never had a problem)
