Air con conundrum

Working  through the AC system on my X350 looking for an elusive leak, I got confused over pipe diameters and thought my charging manifold was wrongly labelled. The LP side is the larger diameter but the charging point is smaller than the HP one. It seems a strange idea to put the small diameter connector on the larger diameter pipe but that seems to be the norm. 🤔.

I'm hoping that the new condenser will solve the problem but time will tell.
