I have a 2009 XK 4.2, looking at rustproofing the underside, could anyone recommend a treatment centre in the West Kent/M25 area, thanks

Hi

Not exactly Kent area but well worth traveling is Krown Rust Treatment

They do a great job, all inside all the box section, panels and doors, they remove all the dirt shield and do a proper job, you can wait while they do it.

Have a look at some of there clips

Just responded to your cover request I hope it answers your question, it really does do the job nicely. We obviously have similar ideas onward next to the corrosion It's not my first job as the subframes on my XKR have been Lanogarded they haven't been done long hence the lack of urgency, whilst I find out how good it is. I have been a motorist a long time and Waxoyl has always been around and I have never heard a word of complaint, however I noticed Lanogard recently once again no words of negativity, but I don't know if one is better than the other, if you get any feedback please forward it as I will be making my decision in the next few months.

Hi Jim, doing the research now, while both protect, they are quite different.

Sounds like a good plan, I think if I administer the protection myself I will do a good job,  but I have been told by a few people that they don't think there is any DIY job that is as thorough as a professional one and it can't be done really well without access to a full 4 post lift, and that access and visibility are key to a good job. Just a point to think about.

If you go down the Lanogard route, it needs an annual inspection and top up treatment, but it doesn't go "hard" the same as Waxoyl.
