OK OK OK I know I just keep asking questions, BUT you guys/girls have done it to yourselves by being so helpful 😁😁

I have a lot of niggly problems with this car but for some reason I want to keep it and fix it, the front shocks are leaking and need replacing, looking around trying to find front strut assemblies without selling my bottom on the streets is not an option (Yes I have the CATs system) my question is can I just install normal Struts and not reconnect the CATs wires and if so will it cause any issues ?

See a simple question NOT

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi

cheapest place for CATS dampers is usually Moss Europe.

you could swap them, but obviously you will lose the active damping, also you will get regular cats damping faults on you dash and warning light, also when they go into fault, the dampers default to hard, so your new normal fronts ones will be usually medium to soft ride and the rear shocks will be stuck in hard, so you would have to replace all 4 shocks, then ideally need the cats coded out with software, or you could connect resistors to the connector at the top of the shock to fool it to think there still connected, this also may effect how the car handles.

if you need any workshop manuals look here http://www.jagrepair.com/

cheers

Joe
