Clunking rear strut.

Have clunking issues with the near side strut,the plastic cover was un clipped, managed to get it back,  but clunking both opening and closing, also boot out of alignment, not central, apart from new any help would be appreciated

I would first check for major corrosion around the area, it sounds as if your inner and outer sills are heavily corroded or it could be simpler and have worn suspension bushes. However, given that you say the doors and boot are out of alignment, i'd hunt for corrosion first.
