A return to jag ownership at last

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I had my 1st jag,a 1971 S1,,4.2L in 1980,sold in 82 then in the late 80's had a daimler S1 1973 lwb.

I have owned and used only classic cars all my driving life,33yrs.

I currently have as my daily driver of 11yrs a 1971 Rover P6V8.

A 1970 Triumph TR6pi I have restored,and a 1970 Rover P6 2000sc auto.

Ever since the XK8's came out in 1996 I have loved them, and vowed that one day I will get one.

Well that time arrived at 19:00 hrs on mon 11th April.

I had been searching for the right spec car at the right price since Xmas,as it was a prezzie to me from me.

This will now be my daily driver,as I am currently restoring my P6V8,am selling the P6 2000 but keeping the TR6.

My god!!!

I will have to pay road tax on a car for the 1st time since pre 73's were made historic!

Its a 1998/9,,91k miles,5 owners, some history, stamped up service book, new mot,4 new pirelli ZR tyres, new brakes all round,6k miles in last 3 yrs with last owner.

Right colour and interior that I wanted, and a local car to me.

It needs a little tlc in places, but all easy tinkering time jobs.

Only got 1 mechanical problem, theres a knock from the back,so its either an exh mount or a susp bush.

Will rectify this weekend.

BTW!!

Am going to be at the Shepton Mallet classic show on sat 16 april so look out for me and say hi if you are going!!

if the club has a stand there I will say hi.

Enjoy the pics.
