Jaguar Research

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My name is Ross Johnstone and I am currently studying for a degree in Transport Design at the University of Huddersfield. As part of my project this year I am working with a well-known design consultancy who have asked me to design a line of merchandise products for a luxury car company, naturally I have chosen Jaguar!

As part of my research i am trying to establish the nature of Jaguar’s customer base, so I thought this would be an excellent place to start. I am trying to determine who exactly I should be aiming my products at.

Therefore i was wondering if you guys could be of any help. I’m interested in anything at all, age, hobbies, sports, what model(s) you own, merchandise products you already own, or any that you think should be on the market.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

Ross

Welcome Ross and good luck with your degree, cannot speak for everyone, reasons that owners like Jags are they beautiful cars,

that ooze luxury with lots of gadgets, comfortable to drive, you can drive long journeys in a Jaguar and still feel relaxed when you reach your

destination, they bring a smile on your face, cost a bit more to keep than your average car, but most owners endure this, but would love parts and servicing to be cheaper.

Hope this has helped, I am sure other members will give you some feedback.

currently looking for a late reg diesel estate so not an owner yet but here's my 10 penceworth.

Based on the Jag owners I know the Jag market is predominantly a grey market ie over 50 ( I'm 66).

The younger market ( and my kids and their friends bear this out ) all seem to lust after the German stuff and the fast Japanese stuff.

At the risk of being contentious I would hazard a guess that the majority of Jag owners also own their own house, are a professional or similar middle income earner and conservative with a small 'c'.

Good luck with the degree
