Hi there

Firstly, I'm new to this club so hi everyone! :-)

Secondly, I have just inherited my Grandad's old Jaguar XJ6 series III 3.4. I'm particularly pleased about this as I've always wanted it and now its mine. The problem is that it has been stood still for 10 years in a garage.

Luckily a family member is a car mechanic and specialises in older cars, racing cars etc. We got the car started today for the first time but had to pump petrol straight into the carbs from a fuel can to get it working as the fuel pumps are not working.

We currently can't find the pumps to check them? Apparently they should be in the boot at the back, but they are not there... We have a feeling that they are in the petrol tanks but that is only a guess and we can't find them anywhere else?

Anyone have any idea where these fuel pumps are?

Cheers

Pietro

Welcome Pietro, The fuel pump is by the fuel tank, I would just say that if you try and start the car with the fuel filler open, as may be a venting problem in the tank causing a vacuum, good luck. Alan :D
