Hi, i'm a new member who hope some one can point me in the right direction, i have a 1999 s type with only 82000 on the clock its blue with tinted windows, i have noticed that my carpet is wet on the passenger side right underneath the front seat the carpet is dry in front and rear footwells, have had it over a pit and cant see anything underneath to cause this problem anyone got any suggestions please thanks nigel

Welcome to the forum Nigel!

If you've not spotted any rust holes under the car, it may be a problem with a door/ windscreen seal.

Is your car a sunroof model? Car you determine if its actually water making the carpet damp, or could it be some other fluid leaking from the car?

Hello Adam

thanks for your interest, yes it is a sunroof model, could not see any tiny holes underneath and it was bone dry underneath as well, the damp do not smell of anything so don't think its other fluid leaking, its just strange that footwells are not wet, have given the seal round the sunroof a good clean so will see if that help.

Hi Nigel.

No problem! Its annoying I can't give you an exact answer. The reason I ask if your sure its water is because a relative had a similar problem with his 09 plate Honda Civic. Damp foot well carpets, no obvious holes or anything. It turned out to be a leaking brake servo, which he got replaced under warranty :)

Has cleaning the seal worked? I hope so with all this rain we've been having! Let us know how you get on.

Adam.
