Jaguar Paint Colour codes - how to decipher them?

Featured Replies

Hey All,

I have just purchased a 2001 X-type in a flat red colour, it's been well loved but the colour is slightly dull in a few places and I'd like to freshen her up. I am having trouble deciphering the paint codes on in car panel - any clues as to how to discover the paint colour?

Well, there's the sticker in driver doorway. You can also ask Jaguar about the original colour, tehy'll need your VIN for it.

This can also be of use:

Here's interior trim codes:

Huge thanks Aonsaithya!

Hi Charlie_Brown & welcome to the forum

Have you tried using a mild cutting compound & a decent carnauba wax polish as it could work out a lot cheaper (& easier) than re spraying patches.

The standard of paint used these days means that it's unusual for it to fade to a point that would need re spraying especially as the whole car would have been subject to the same weather conditions all over etc.

It's worth exploring the cheaper alternatives first

Good luck with whatever you decide & keep us updated with your progress

Cheers

Dean
