Having just switched from an MG ZS 180 to an S-Type, one aspect of handling I noticed was a slight roll on tyre walls.

I had the opportunity to take the S-Type along a lovely stretch of East Lothian coastline today and the handling by way of chassis and suspension was beautiful. I couldn't help think however that low profile tyres would help towards handling being a little sharper when required.

Is this an option with standard S-Type (1999) wheels, or am I way off the mark here?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi Paul,

To fit a pair of low profile tyres you'll need a slightly larger set of rims, what do you have fitted at the moment?  There are different models of S-Type with the Type-R at the top of the tree fitted with 18" alloys.  You'd have to go none standard after that.

Then it's all down to taste..........

Good luck,

Dave
