Hello

I have just recently purchased an Xj 2.7TDI (2008).Just shortly after I bought it an ABS warning light came on, new sensor fitted (Off side rear).Fault is now back on again and will not clear. Garage is now saying it requires new ECU any suggestions ?

Hi Chris...and welcome to the club !

I would check the reluctor ring that is in the hub (unless it is the magnetic wheel bearing type) to ensure it is not damaged (e.g. chipped teeth) as this will bring up a fault condition.

Let us know how you get on

Quite often, on some cars these reluctor rings crack. Look very carefully, or get someone with a good quality multimeter or scope to "read" the output whilst spinning the wheel relatively slowly, you will see an "odd" part of the output if its cracked, failing that just have a damned good look at the ring all the way round.

Regards
