hi again wife tells me its a wind type noise only just started had car 6 yr love it after another but noise really annoying

It could be rear wheel bearing(s) if the noise is constant...a front bearing if the noise generally disappears when cornering.

Worth looking at door and window rubbers to see if they are letting air through them....maybe use a hosepipe to spray water at the doors and windows and see if any water enters...then this maybe also where the air is entering?

Get your rear wheel alignment checked. I've known the rumbling to be caused by tyres as result of the alignment being slightly off. It's fine when the tyres are new, but as they get toward the latter half of their life the rumbling starts. You might notice very slight 'feathering' of the edge of the tread across the tyre.

I've also known it come from just the tyres alone. Especially if they are the new low profiles.

The upshot is you may replace bearings and the problem still exist. If your tyres are low, try that first. You'll have to replace them soon anyway if they are

Excellent news! Well, not the needing new tyres bit, but at least it's an easier fix and saved you the money of having replaced the bearing only to still have the problem.
