Check the rear sway bars.
I had that problem last year and it turned out to be a worn sway bar.
new ones and a 4 way tracking check sorted it.
Thanks tyre man
Seems to be common fault Got car booked in week after next to look at bushes and will check sway bars at same time

My car is doing just this but with added wobble on the overrun and when cornering, it's wear in the rear suspension. I replaced the track rods the other week as the outer ends on both were knackered but didn't properly track it as I knew I'd be changing the lower rear arm bushes which are also done for. In fact I finished re-bushing my spare arms half an hour ago, ready to fit tomorrow.
If you jack the back end up with the handbrake off you could probably feel untoward movement by wrenching the wheels around. There are some bushes at the rear that are actually ball-joints with dust seals which can split and let the grease out, then the "bush" is on borrowed time and will wear out very quickly. A couple of mine had done this and the others had just worn out.
Whereabouts in Kernow be you?
Thanks.

Hi
Get the bushes checked, when they go soft you can get a lot of movement which alter the car geometry
at a guess, with you saying it does it under acceleration and deceleration, its going to be a rear, the drive through the rear wheels is causing the wheel to alter
and its only going to be one wheel causing it to steer, if both did it, they would cancel each other out, also check the rear tie rods, these do wear and would cause the wheel to steer if there play
but I'd get the bushes and ball joints checked
uneven tyre wear might also be caused by this as well
cheers
Joe
Thanks Joe .

Hi.
I have a 2007 2.7 Diesel S-type. I noticed while away last week that when driving on the motorway the car would ever so slightly change direction when Decelerating and then acceleration.
I recently had a brake vibration that turned out to be warped disc and I had the front end checked out at the same time so I am fairly confident its nothing to do with the front end,
any ideas anyone ?
