Try and find one with at least two key fobs as that will save you a few hundred from adding extra(s) up front.

How can i get a new blank key blade for 2014 jaguar xf and how much would they be i await your reply
Buy one of the "dummy" key fobs on eBay. The ones with no internals.
Some come with a blank key that you can have someone laser cut for you.
Or you can buy just the blade from China....

It happened to me a few times, Always right after putting a USB stick in the USB port.
Always remedied by turning car off.

D you have a second fob?
If so, is it within range of car and causing the message?

So, you can't access the boot due to the battery being dead?
If so, try this.....

You could try keeping the vents permanently open to see if that would be related to the problem.
Climate Control/Vent Rotation and choose "Always Open".
It is possible to set the air vents so that they
remain permanently on view, even when the
ignition is switched off.
From the touch-screen Climate menu, select
Settings. Select Vent rotation Always open. -

As JoeDotCom says...It's a nightmare.
You can read through this thread as it offers some, but not very pretty, options.
I'm not sure why the poster who used the angle grinder to access the pins didn't use a hole saw and install bonnet closure pins used on race cars.
It certainly would've made for a cleaner finish

I have a 2009 Jaguar XF, and my key was stolen. I went to the dealer in Charleston, SC, and they want to charge me damn near $2000 for a new key. Something is wrong with this picture. Can someone please tell me how I can get a key for my car. I called 15 car locksmiths in Charleston and none of them can help me.

You could always go the route I did and purchase the OBDSTAR-H100 and try programming a (couple of) new key(s).
That’s what I did after my only key fob was obliterated in a car accident.I now have two new working key fobs.
Private message me if you want a link to a thread about it on another forum, as I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post link here.
You can also search YouTube for info on reprogramming a new XF fob. -
I believe TOPIX now charges a fee for that information.
If you request a build sheet from………… jagcrc@jaguarlandrover.com……
they should provide one. They did when I requested one eight months ago.

If I fit a second hand Bluetooth module will it require re-coding to my car
I did last month and had no issues on my 2010XF..
I disconnected the battery to do it and had no issues, although II did read recently that there's no need to d/c the battery.

My pet peeve with the SAT NAV in my 2010MY XF is that it always defaults to DC (District Of Columbia), so I have to scroll to my home state every time I want to search for/set a destination.
-
Thanks Tomato. That's exactly what I'll do.
I'm thinking it may just be the fob battery that's weak or not making contact because the car will recognise the fob and start if I dock the fob.
Just nothing when it's used as a standalone.

I was in a car accident in my (non-jag) car and my 2011MY XF key fob was ejected from my set of keys in ignition and broke into many pieces.
I just got back from the wreckers where I retrieved pretty much all the bit 'n' pieces and put it back together (minus the chrome strips on either side) with glue and rubber bands, a la Humpty Dumpty.
All the buttons seem to "click" as they should. I replaced the battery as the fob sat for three days in pieces. The (-ve) tab is in the right spot/slot to make contact with battery.
Car doesn't respond to any of the five buttons when I push them, so I had to use metal key to get into car.
Of course, the alarm sounds right away (for 20secs or so) as the car can't see the fob...as per message on dash..."Smart key Not Found".
I haven't tried putting the fob in the slot below steering wheel to see if it recognises it that way. Guess I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it back out of slot.
Anyway I guess my question is: Since the fob sat in pieces for days, is there something that has to be done to "remarry" the fob to vehicle?
...and if not, does anyone have any other suggestions before I look into getting TWO new key fobs made.?
Thanks for any help that anyone can offer 🙂 -

Hi All, I have just purchased a 2011 XF Premium Luxury. The Voice control is not working, I press the button on the steering wheel, the radio goes off but nothing else happens.
Any ideas how to re-enable it?
Activating the system
To activate voice control, press the voice
button on the steering wheel. A tone will be
heard and LISTENING will be displayed in the
message centre, to indicate that the system is
now waiting for a voice command.
Note: It is only necessary to press the voice
button at the beginning of each voice session. If the above works as it should, you can give the tutorial a listen as there might be something in there......
Voice system tutorial
To listen to a tutorial on how to use
JaguarVoice, press and release the voice
button and, after the tone, say VOICE
TUTORIAL.
The tutorial is divided into four lessons and has
a total duration of approximately four minutes.
The tutorial can only be undertaken with the
vehicle stationary and parked.
