Thanks John, perhaps I do have a tendency to over simplify things.

I have a 2016 XE AWD, I usually wait until a low fluid warning comes up on the screen then pour in 5L of DEF fluid, ( £6.00 for 5L from Asda ) the 5L lasts a long time, I have never had any problem.

I had a Reliant Robin too, it did the job but for a teenager a Sinclair C5 might have had more street cred.

Had my 2016 XE for three years now, love it, even after numerous attempts to update the sat nav it still thinks I am crossing the river Forth by ferry boat rather than the Queensferry crossing.

After reading your post I noticed that my XE does exactly the same, someone out there must know the answer.

I bought a 2.8kw 4stroke generator from Aldi about 4 years ago, 90 quid, a very easy starter and still going great.
