  1. I liked the look of the chrome grill. I tried with self adhesive strip but couldn't get it as neat as I wanted. A French owner of an S type had done this and from the pictures I saw it looked the biz!

To cut a long story short, I kept looking on the net, mainly in the US. and finally found one in Texas.

To my dismay they replied that they wouldn't post overseas. So I pretended to be a girl who wanted a chrome grill as a present for her Dad! It worked!

I have it installed on my Radiance red 3.0Ltr. S type and just love it.

Good luck in your search for one...............IP

  2. Hi Mick T,

I agree with the other replies. I had mine done @80K miles and although the gear changes were OK before but after the oil/filter change, the changes were imperceptible and pickup much improved. Bristol transmissions sell a kit with the correct Oil and the replacement filter unit and fasteners.

(I have no connection with Bristol transmissions other than a satisfied customer).

I would suggest you have the work done at a competent independent as it is quite a tricky operation to fully drain and re-fill. The correct temperatures must be achieved whilst re-filling. I also had the transmission software upgraded at the same time ("flashed".)

  3. Hi everyone,

Just bought a pristine 2005 2.7D S type pale green (seafrost?) with 80K miles on the clock.

Very pleased with it. Bought it in Dublin and had a nice drive up here to Donegal.

I am a first time Jaguar owner so am just learning about them.

When I joined was asked to select where I lived and was a bit miffed to find Donegal not listed on the dropdown box!

    Thanks,

    Irish Pappy
