Anyone know if the later model smoother rounder facelift bumper will fit on an 1999 model
-
Thanks guys looks like a call to sng barrats for a new one
-
Saga with my s type continues plugged into a fault finding laptop and it came up with P1576 anyone know what this is as it was Jaguar specific
-
On my way down to the new forest the fail safe management message came on on the dashboard and all power was lost . Turned off the engine as we just made it to services and started it again and it was fine for a while . Now we are at the new forest it does it every 10 minutes or less any ideas anyone and does anyone know of a jag specialist nearby that could help . My car is a 1999 3.0 se we are staying at Milford on sea near lymington

I've had the Jaguar about 2 years and I've not changed the coolant so I think that will be the next thing to do. Also on other forums they have mentioned that it makes their engine's run hotter even on motorbikes and one biker said it made his exhaust glow . They suggested trying bp or Tesco momentum as they cured their problems

I've noticed better fuel consumption aswell and mine is a 3.0 petrol so it will be interesting if your diesel does the same. The only other thing I thought of is perhaps the cooling system needs a flush out and a new thermostat
-
Has anyone noticed if their car runs hotter on v power as I've been using it for a couple of weeks and noticed the electric cooling fan always running when I stop

Sometimes when I start my 1999 3.0 s type it rattles and sounds like tappits but if I give it a quick rev the noise goes away and the revs die down any ideas
-
Cheers for that I will probably give them a try and post a report on here

My 1999 3.0 s type 50000 mile service is due and I'm thinking of using les pauls in woodford . Has anyoneused them and would you recommend them

Just realized I put rear stabilizing bars but they are rear stabilizing links
-
It's even more fun with the traction control off

Got a 1999 3 litre se on a t plate and it puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it . I bought it 2 years ago for £1800 with 36000 miles and full jag history . Watch out for ball joints and rear stabilizing bars failing . I had water in the boot and solved it by pulling the rubber off and putting in some thin draught excluder from a diy store under the rubber which solved the problem and a lot cheaper than new rubbers . It also came with satnav ,rear electric blind ,sunroof ,electric everything ,memory seats ,dual zone climate control, cruise control etc . Make sure you get one with all the toys and check they all work . If you get one with satnav you can't get an up to date if it's pre 2003 . I wouldn't swap the car for anything as you will find out about how great you feel driving it oh and by the way the sports button is addictive.

have you had any joy yet as i'm looking for one as well for my 1999 s type
-
I thought it would be .that should keep me busy when I have a day off and i will get it up on ramps to check the bushes and wheels off to check suspension thanks for the suggestions
-
Not as I'm aware off it has the heater elements in it
-
heater only seems to get hot when car has been running for a long time or at speed 70 honest officer any idea's i think it could be wrong thermostat . also rear suspension squeaks but car is a 1999 with 420000 miles on the clock and hadn't been used for a while till i bought it .
-
can't get my front screen to work have checked fuses and the switch seems ok as it clicks on and lights up anyone got any idea's
-
hi i'm mark i've just bought my first jag last thursday it's a 1999 s type se with every extra including sat nav which i didn't think came on 1999 cars . i've always wanted a jag and now i'm living the dream . it's only done 42000 miles with 6 jag stamps in the service book . it's topaz or i call it gold with an unmarked cream leather interior . the only thing i can find wrong with it is a squeaky suspension leg on the rear other than that it's silent as it wafts you along in luxury . i wish i bought one earlier now .
