  1. I remain puzzled as to why you're putting the fob in that slot anyway? The only time I did was when I got "SmartKey" error displayed.

    Try disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable for about 30 minutes. The battery is located in the trunk towards the front of the vehicle behind the cover and luggage separator if this is a convertible. When you reconnect the battery have an assistant in the vehicle so they can push down on the key so it ejects as soon as you reconnect the negative battery terminal."
