  1. So success, I transplanted the top half of the key onto the new shell, and was really easy to programme into the car, so now I got my only key working as it should.
  2. So I thought I would use this as a journal of my new journey in the Jaaaaag. She is nothing short of a masterpiece, I’ve never driven anything like it, the engine is quiet but deadly, great mpg, everything works (mostly) and I’m very impressed. now for the mostly part. when I bought it I knew the air suspension fault was on there, luckily someone at work has a diagnostic tool and found it was the plausibility issue c2303 which should be the compressor. The ride heights are good in all corners although she will be sat for a few days now so hopefully will still be the case. Yesterday my key fob wouldn’t open the car and the alarm went off, didn’t know you start the car straight away to make sure it doesn’t, I only have 1 key. I took the fob to timpsons to have another battery put in, but the fob is corroded and probably glued in to keep it together, so it couldn’t be done. I have bought another shell with new fob, I’m thinking that I can programme the new fob which I read how to do, and move the key and chip onto the new shell. any ideas if that wouldn’t work, the chip and key are together on the top half of the key, so transplanting it onto the new shell should work. apart from those so far so good, the wife finally likes it but still thinks I’m having my mid life crisis.
  3. Here she is in all her glory, very pleased with my purchase. The dealer didn’t take any pictures of the inside but it’s ivory with light brown carpets. Full history almost all Jaguar 100k miles for an absolute steal. Hurry up and get this dent done that the dealer said he’s getting done. Can’t wait to drive now.
  4. So just to keep you updated that basically I cannot for in an S Type, but I saw a nice XJR LWB that’s been parked at my work for ages and didn’t realise the owner was someone I speak to all the time. I asked whether I could sit in it to find out if fitted and low and behold I can.😋 I went to see an XJ8 yesterday which wasn’t the LWB and guess what, can still fit. So I go and pick her up next week after a dent has been taken out. I got a couple of things to do like one of the rear doors only lock manually, and the air suspension fault comes up after driving 10 minutes which is strange it’s not after starting, the heights are fine and rides well, I’ll have a look at the code when I’ve finally collected her.
  5. Yes I did adjust to every possible position and check the electrics were working but I couldn’t get my legs underneath the wheel. I may even take a punt on it and get the owner to test drive it with me-and get him to deliver it to my mechanic to do the work to adjust the seat, not something I’m capable of doing.
  6. Hey guys, am new here and thought I would seek your advice, I have always loved the S Type and went to go and have a look at 2003 3.0 V6 to find I couldn’t fit into it at 6’9”, the seat just doesn’t go back far enough, is there a way to extend the runners or remove and place further back to accommodate me, the only bummer is that I can’t test drive one. I dont care about the passenger behind because this is for me, my tiny wife and daughter who can sit behind her. I see the latest post 2006 models have a longer wheel base but then it’s falling into the stupid tax category. I don’t know if anyone else has this problem?? Thanks for your time in reading Scott
