  2. Well folks I thought I just mention this as I'm over 50 and got some correspondence from the post office who are now doing motor insurance and my wife has had a couple of "comings together" this year, and her insurers who are the Cornhill have been absolute rubbish.

I worked for almost 40 years in the insurance industry, and if you've got a couple of claims in the same year nobody really wants to know you. Interestingly enough the post office underwriters who seem to have access to a number of companies saved a lot of money on my wife's insurance, I'm going to give them my CC details tomorrow and get the deal done before 2 August when it's due. I've written a snotty letter to Cornhill who have been totally idle and at one point said to me "it's cheaper for us to pay the third-party than it is to defend your case".

    I think that's disgusting

Please don't think I'm trying to move people away from the insurers on the site, if you're over 50 it could just be worth of free phone call, it's an 0800 number rather than the usual expensive 0845

    best wishes to all members

    Cheers,

    Alastair

  3. I just thought I'd post this as a general comment, I know Jaguar dealers are expensive but I was looking on a motor engineering website. They had done extensive tests on genuine Jaguar parts which seemed to last much longer than substitute ones which I know there is probably a vast difference in price as there is in lubricants and stuff.

I got some engine Oil to the specification required by Jaguar and it was amazingly cheap compared to the Jaguar Oil, I think with the hardware one has got to may be take note of the above. Having so said I got a wonderful update on my navigation system for £35 where I think the Jaguar replacement was over £200

    Best,

    Alastair :)
