The car I've wanted since I was16!
Sam, CD's are old hat, save up to get a usb port fitted, a far better idea. Or have you thought of getting a transmitter so you can play a MP3 player through the radio system, something like this. There are loads of different makes, even Tesco sell them ? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Car-Tunecast-Universal-Transmitter/dp/B002S8AFE8/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1405518011&sr=8-7&keywords=mp3++transmitter ATB, Trevor

What To Do - Another S-Type?
Graham, I was loaned XF's whilst the Aston was in the garage (which was frequent) including the 3 litre devil's fuel portfolio, an XF-R, and the XFR-S, all were cracking cars . I do like the look of the old Jags though, but the new shape is growing on me. Go and test drive an XF, you will be surprised just how good they are (or perhaps you already know). ATB, Trevor

What To Do - Another S-Type?
Graham, My XKR is parked on the road as not many houses in North Devon have garages, just a post to tie their horses up to . I would love another convertible, but it is not wise having one without a garage, as I found out to my cost with both the Aston Martin and the BMW . Prefer the metal roof convertibles to the rag tops though. ATB, Trevor

What To Do - Another S-Type?
Graham, Get another Jag with your retirement pennies, it's better than wasting it . All the jags are fab, so you can't go far wrong! ATB, Trevor

Front brake pads - OEM or third party?
Mike, I realise that, but it was a general point I was making about about how using non Jaguar parts in validates any warranty, although you can get the car serviced at an independent garge . Glad you've got yours sorted . You must live the good life up there if you can afford sixpence. I'm not allowed money, I'm married. ATB, Trevor

JOC Meet.
Peter, Whilst you in Gaydon can you organise the Jags to drive through the Aston Martin factory so they can see what decent cars look like? ATB, Trevor

Jag Newbie saying Hello
Chris, Your new plates would be ideal for me, the "ND" for North Devon, and the "55" for my IQ . My XJ I used to have : http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/gallery/album/98-jaguar-xj-supersport/ And the XKR I have now: http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/gallery/album/129-jaguar-xkr-2012/ ATB, Trevor

Stevie, In between taking the mickey, I forgot to welcome you to the club . I am new to Jags also, had a XJ Supersport, and now have an XKR (pics in the gallery somewhere), both fab, as are all Jags! If you have any problems there is usually someone about who can help . How long have you had your Jag Chris? ATB Trevor

Meets in the North
Chris, Not at all young man . My friend Linda Valentine (nice lady, a music promoter) lives up your way . She gets very confused with the opening hours of Aldi ATB, Trevor P.S, Devon isn't civilised either, very strange natives

Hello everyone I'm a newbi here.
Glyn, I just told her I was boss, quite easy really. Joking aside, she is quite poorly and I have to make all the decisions . But I will say the old saying about "Give them an inch" is very true ! ATB, Trervor

Hello everyone I'm a newbi here.
Peter, That is annoying, a woman missing something! But look on the bright side at least you can say you've been done for speeding on a bike and in a car. Luckily enough there aren't any speed cameras on the A303 in Wiltshire , not that I go round the countryside speeding, I just like to give the car a brief burst along there about 6-00am in the morning. There are a lot of road works on the M5 near Bristol with a 50mph speed limit, and they take an average. This is where the adaptive cruise control comes into it's own. You are also right, no point arguing , especially as you have previous, solo, and on a tandem . But on the positive side, it has to give you some street crd with the grandchildren !

Hello everyone I'm a newbi here.
Charlie, I really am 100% useless doing that sort of stuff. Bring the XK down to the A303 ! ATB, Trevor

Hello everyone I'm a newbi here.
Charle, Don't be forced into anything bigger, stick with the XK, or get anXKR. But if she decides you are getting something bigger get an XJ Supersport (or racing barge as I called mine) . I don't take orders for my 'er indoors as I'm, boss, and as I'm useless at DIY, and hate, I pay a grown up to do it properly . Went for a burst down to Penzance today for something today , I know you have snow on the ground this time of year up there near the north pole but the weather was fab . Two more trips shortly both to London village, the first to see my eldest receive her doctorate at the Barbican, and the second to see some music . So it means I can open up the taps on the A303 . P.S., I'm not from Devon, I just live here

XKR Sat Nav
Peter, It doesn't, but I'm going down the race track (A303, and my favourite road) on July 23rd and August 1st. ATB, Trevor

XKR Sat Nav
Peter, Their site is under maintenance at the moment, tried for the link earlier . If I could find a way to copy the discs I would do. I have the software, but there are two discs and they are 7.5 gig each, don;t know where to get the discs from as normal DVD discs are only 4.4 gig Otherwise I would do a copy for them. But the last last update being 2003 must be incorrect, as you and I have 2012-2013 discs. And i'm sure the new F Type, and all new jags will have an up to date system. ATB, Trevor P.S., of for a bimble down to Penzance today, would you like a stick of rock?

XKR Sat Nav
Well the sat nav discs for my XKR (2012 reg) are 2012-2913 . ATB Trevor

Sport button
Glyn, "A" forgot to mention that it also activates the ejector seat on the passenger side, so if the wife is annoying you, you know know what to do ! ATB, Trevor

Hello everyone I'm a newbi here.
Glyn, Welcome to the club , your Jag sounds fab I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I concur with you about cyclists, although you get the odd decent one. Some even get done for speeding (don't they Peter?) Was brought up in Risca in my early life (if it's the same Newport) and went to school at Ponllanfraith, or a similar hard to spell name . ATB, Trevor
