Congratulations Paul. Enjoy her!
I bought my first Jag a few months back; should have done it years ago!
Welcome to the club.

By eck Trevor your an early riser!
Or is it Trevor? You could be a reincarnated rock guitarist for all I know; masquerading as a moderator.
Kind regards

It's cheaper to change your name by deed poll to the number plate.
Probably true Trevor but would only confuse the wife. She has problems with Nev at times.

Thanks BigAl, My apologies for the delay in replying. \I've been a bit pre-occupied with a few problems for the past few days.
Thankfully none Jaguar related.

Thanks Richard, Yes I'm very pleased with her.
Never had a cherished number before, but couldn't resist this one.
I felt the old lady deserved something a little special and dropped lucky on this one. Bought direct from DVLA at a very reasonable price.
I just hope that I can treat the rest of her in the manner to which she has obviously become accustomed.

Bread! BREAD?
Can't afford bread now I've got a Jag.
The powers that be say: "let him eat cake".
BTW, what part of Devon are you in? Hope to be down your way later in the year. (Honiton area).
Regards
Nev.

Yes Trevor you are VERY advanced compared to this part of Norfolk.
I have NO landline broadband, NO mobile phone coverage and sporadic Terrestrial TV, so rely pretty much on satellite for everything. It's my own fault for living here, but I love the place.

Many thanks for all you replies and advice.
Yes I've tried a few different ways on your system but I think it is my ISP that is the problem. I have to rely on satellite internet link and it has been causing me a few speed problems lately. Also my laptop is getting on a bit and giving the odd blip.
Maybe time for an update methinks.

Hi Trevor. I've been trying to attach picture to this post but no luck so far.

Good day everyone. I've just recently purchased my very first Jaguar; a 2001 XJ8 Executive.
This is a marque I've coveted for most of my life, but now I have retired I've finally taken the plunge.
she's not a new model by any means, but I believe she is a beauty which has been well cared for by her previous owner of 12 or so years. She has done quite low mileage and drives like a dream.
I'm still familiarising myself with your forum so not sure if the picture will come up.

Nev
No, sorry picture not working. Think my internet is too slow at the moment. I'll try again when it's running a bit faster.
2001 XJ8 subframe bushes
in 1994 to 2003 XJ
Posted
On hearing loud "clunks" from the rear end, under stressed driving conditions on Norfolk's country roads, I asked my local garage (not a Jaguar dealer) to take a look at it and they have told me that the rear sub-frame bushes are worn,
Is this a common fault on XJ's, and is it likely after only 70,000 miles.
Is it a big job to replace these bushes?
Any comments or advice would be most welcome.
Regards
