Hello everyone
I'm just about to take ownership of a 1999 Jaguar XKR supercharged cabriolet. The previous owner, my father, has told my it has a tendency to slip out at the back, in particularly in the wet. He said the tyres he had put on it weren't really suitable. So i need to get some new ones.
As this is a safety thing, money isn't really an issue. I would love to fit some good all weather tyres that perform well in the wet.
I have come across some, Continental Sport Contact 5, they seem pretty good ratings wise, Grip A, Efficiency C (a bonus).
I would love to hear any recent experience and recommendations from you all?

Thank you - the eBay items aren't right. They are just the outer panel. I'm looking for the panel that actually displays the gear selection. I have sent off some requests to the places you suggested.

Hello
I have recently bought a 1999 XKR.
I love it, but it needs some work and i was homing you guys could help me source a part.
I'm looking for the panel that surrounds the gear stick/shift. It's the part that actually displays what gear you are in (well, in automatic). The current one has cracked, but i'm struggling to find a replacement on eBay etc because i don't really know what the part is called.
Could anyone tell me what the part is called, or even better point me in the right direction.
I have attached a photo of the part i am talking about.
Thanks in advance
sam

thanks - the car came fitted with Pirellis, and that seems to be where all the complaints come from regarding the lack of traction in the wet. I was thinking of avoiding Pirellis to be honest.
