  1. Well £1300 lighter but a valid MOT I would trust, which means should I make a complaint agains the previous garage for its MOT as some of the rust on the sills must have been visible as no way the holes I saw appeared in a year, the garage was in Bradford

  2. Well my first one with this car, rear brake calliper seized ,rear shock absorber leaking but the main issue rusty sills and they were bad wondering if this is an issue on xtypes.my previous car was the 2.1 and was fine ,this car is a 3.0 and the awd model were there any design differences that could make this a problem will make sure the work is correctly rustproofed,oh and one of the headlamps looks knackered ,so eBay here I come ,so going in on we'd should have back on sat I hope ,off to take out a second mortgage

  3. Hi think I have read on here that some double din units are to deep to fit,on my second xtype and replaced the fitted unit am thinking of fitting this in new car but this car has steering wheel mounted controls so need to find a unit compatible, think it took about 30 mins to fit and quicker to take out ,make sure you get the right colour facia adaptor as I got grey when I needed black which is ok as this one has the grey,

  4. The cd player has stopped working so am planning to replace ,have the digital. Climate control and wheel mounted controls was thinking about the Jag sat nav unit but I want to be able to use my iPod ,so anyone found a unit that can work with the fitted controls and iPod connected ,thanks

  5. Hi guys bought a nifty little gadget off Amazon for £1.41,it tells you the voltage of the car battery and also when the engine is running showss how much charge is being made .its called an LCD cigarette lighter battery voltage meter,my battery died a few weeks ago without warning on a Sunday afternoon after shops had shut as mine is an auto no chance of a bump start ,replaced battery on the Mondayand purchased one of these ,battery reads a steady 12.1 in the morning and over 15.2 when engine running, should prove useful over the winter ,would have posted a link to site but unfortunatly no idea how

  6. Well last two days have been to see two cars and hav bought the 3.0 ltr one I have seen today pick up sat 11 th sending him my docs so the can change my reg onto new car, after driving these cannot believe how much better they drove and handled compared to my 2.1,think I might need to update my sat nav with speed camera locations

  7. Thanks Peter am going for a look on Sat ,spoke to garage owner seems a nice guy very helpful ,cars a 2003 model and the 3 year warranty seems a good deal from the photos looks very very good priced at £3600 so have to do a bit of bargaining ,thing is my car just drive so well hope the difference is a clincher

  8. Hi am thinking of replacing my 2.1 classic with a larger engined version and was wondering if there are things I should look out for,am going for the auto version, have seen a few on autotrader and spotted a few targets and spoke to a couple of traders and hoping to go have a look at a couple on sat, thanks, seen a couple with tow bars which I don't need but do they cause any type of damage?

  9. Hi had my first MOT and not expecting any issues got a bit of a shock ,2 tyres rear brakes and headlight unit,my issue is that the nearside headlamp unit needed replacing as it was stuck pointing up it was stripped down and was found to have been attempted to have been repaired, now my question is if you looked at them when on would you know it was not aligned correctly and would it only be picked up during an MOT if so was the previous MOT suspect, checked the Gov website and the car was seen at the same Garage for most of the previous MOTs ,should I make my supisions to the authorities my car has done less than 46000 miles and would imagine rear breaks should last longer also ,am £800 pound lighter the garage I use I have used fir over 25 years and trust their work and advice, thank for reading any advice gladly accepted

  10. Hi just a quick question, went to purchase a Rug and it was to big to fit in boot so tried to fold down rear seats ,looked in handbook then went into boot to unlock but my car doesn't seem to have them ,we're they an option as the diagram in handbook showed the catches should be under parcel shelf but nothing was there?
