Don't think this is an issue as the temp gauge is showing normal but I have been surprised how hot the Xj (5.0 litre na v8 model) engine gets. Is this just a feature of such a big and powerful engine!

Well the jag has arrived! 40 miles on and absolutely love it. :)

Need them for windscreen Charlie!

Removing dup post - fat finger syndrome

The can conundrum answer was 12000 cans.
As for the boot teaser - from back seat?

Mine has the b&w stereo on which frank sinatra and Louis Armstrong will sound mighty fine! Kylie must have been perfect to get those hard to reach low bits. I'm approaching 50 and I would value her for that over anything else!

Beautiful looking motor that Trevor. The xf I have on loan at mo is that colour and mighty fine it looks too. My xj v8 na is caviar which looks great with the white leather imo.

Clearly!

Ahhhh so the fuse is there to reduce exhaust noise?
-
Higher than both. Hope one I get has more than 3 cans worth of metal in it Trevor ;)

This may be a well known stat but I heard it today so thought I would share. I believe the Xj is pretty much all from recycled Aluminium - if that came from just drink cans how many cans would it come comprise of? No googling please ;)

Behind tape?

What does fuse 19 do tho Trevor please?

On the Jenson we moved into a new house in hills in W Yorkshire about 3 years ago. The house next door is abandoned due to subsidence and both that house and ours are surrounded by woods. A year or so in I was working in my garden and peered over the wall and literally 5 yards away is a Jenson in the woods. Totally rotten which is a shame. Seems to have a cloth roof which hasn't survived! It is still there but I think it is beyond repair :-(

Thanks Trevor. Those stats are very interesting as there isn't much in the performance, even the 3.0 D!

Take delivery of an xj 5.0 v8 next week. Not seriously thinking about any changes at all but would be interested anyway if a supercharger could be fitted to the Base 5.0. Probably a very daft question but then again I am a mechanical numpty!

If you had to choose your favourite from those Trevor which one would it be please?

Picked up the interim Jag today - an XF. Really impressed, nice and pokey (its a diesel) and returning 49mpg. Wonderfully quiet - makes my two last cars Clio 200RS and Subaru Impreza RB320 sound like tractors inside and a lovely ride.
XJ 5.0 V8 Portfolio ready next Wed - I will be expecting the same fuel economy ;)

Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.

Thanks chaps - will be nice to see what I think of the xf :)

Get where you are coming from Kenny but I am a glass half full sort of guy ;)

Latest is I wont get the car next week as dealer is struggling sourcing an ABS sensor. As a thank you for my patience the dealer is popping me temp in an XF from Thursday - I will report back on my thoughts on that model. Wonder if it is a diesel or something a bit more spicy! I think I probably know the answer to that

Definitely will do that Kenny. )

Thanks folks. I don't think it is anything to worry about - maybe I should just be a tad more sparing on the dynamic mode!!!!!!!!
