job now sorted. In the end it was the switch that wasn`t working properly .(would send window up but not down) That was after I was sent the wrong window mechanism (twice) At the third attempt, I fitted new mechanism as one in car although working, was on verge of going wrong (cable badly frayed etc)and after getting that far into door didn`t fancy getting in there again in a hurry. I own a 2004 stype diesel auto The drivers window won`t function I hear a slight click when I depress button but no sound of any motor or anything mechanical at all. All the other windows work as they should Ideas?

Hell from north Lancs Just bought my first jaguar. An s type on an04 plate ,with the 2.7 diesel engine (auto). Always wanted a jaguar since I was a small boy(many years ago). Any help and advice welcome.
