Hi All
I'm having problems with the SatNav in my recently purchased 1999 V8, basically it's not receiving a GPS signal - I keep recalibrating it but within 5 miles it's put me in a field or occasionally, in the Solent again.
Can anyone tell me where the GPS module/aerial is located please, just wondering if replacing the head unit will fix it? I'm also still using the original 1999 disc - can anyone help me with that too?
Thanks in advance.

At long last I've finally taken the plunge and bought my dream car, a low-milage 1999 4.0 V8 S-Type in Silver. It's got a few issues but I'm gradually working my way throught them - just need to fix the sat-nav and we're there.
I've always been averse to buying automatics but having driven this one, I can't believe I've not bought one before.
Personally I'm 48 years old, married for 27 years and a Firefighter from Hampshire and now the envy of my watch,

I've just purchased a 1999 S-Type. I gather the early models came with a CD-based SatNav whereas from 2003 (I believe) Denso changed to a DVD-based system.
So my question is, can I replace the head-unit for a newer one (DVD-based) or is it simply a matter of burning a modern DVD disc to CD (as long as the data fits)? My unit still contains the original 1999 disc.
On another related topic, the SatNav keeps losing it's way and I have to recalibrate it. Would this be caused by the GPS receiver? I'm not getting an icon saying "No GPS".
Thanks in advance.
