I have a flapping type noise when keys are out of the car & i'm getting out so I just sat & listened & I think it is the climate control flaps opening or closing.
Nothing to worry about as far as I know it is normal

Just buy a XF then you can keep the disk :D

OK just in middle of stripping out the air box to give it a good clean & new filter, while air blowing the muck out a piece of foam that was stuck to the lower part of the box came loose & fell out.
Does anyone know what the purpose of those foam/sponge bits are for & can I just leave it out ?.
Thanks in advance

Thanks chaps for your replies, and apologies for delayed response.
I am thinking about getting the bluetooth adapter above, but another question occured to me. My Android phone (Samsung S4) is paired with the Parrot system, if I install this product, will I have any issues choosing which to prioritise when I start the car? or do I simply remove it from the cars connector? or should I just pair it with the Android 'Tablet' (Samsung) I have for ease? I have the Torque app on both. I have probably answered my own question, but its just about making life easier
Thanks again
Steve
I also have Parrot & when I plug in my reader it just connects along with the Parrot I guess it has no conflict with parrot its just sending data & not trying to take calls. Just so you know these readers are rather basic so don't expect too much data but it is handy. To film your car jouney with a data overlay you will need to download an extra bit of Torque Android software but it's all very easy to do. Never had any issues using Android Kit-Kat Samsung Note 3.
Hope you enjoy it

Thanks guys for your responses.
A couple of questions Spring to mind, if you have this bit of kit running while your driving, does it record the live feed back, for reviewing at a later time? And does it read compression levels in each pot? I'm not sure exactly how advanced, technology has travelled, so I have to ask these questions in order to get up to speed with it all!!
Regards
Steve
Yes using my phone I can record the journey while my chosen data also records on the same screen but not seen any compression levels on my AP (Torque Pro).

What were the symptoms play/noise etc ?

Got a cheap BT reader from eBay & use Torque pro.
Both work together well never had a problem getting data or reading/searching for any codes.

Had a long bleep from the rear parking sensors which stopped so had a listen & could not hear any clicks from the middle two. Took car back to garage where I brought it, 100 round trip, they fitted two new centre ones & it worked until I got home but now it just bleeps all the time as if something is behind the car.
I'm starting to regret buying this car even the simple jobs are hindered by daft design like having to take bumper off to get at sensors, manifold to change plugs & very tight access to change bulbs.
Before I waist my money driving the car another 100 mile to get a fix do any of you have any suggestions as to what I can try to get the parking sensors working ?
Thanks

My powerflow boxes haven't had any affects on my policy or power, they just look nice!!
I agree with Paul, changing the boxes won't hike the hp unless induction and head work is carried out too.
Just tell the company they are a stainless replacement then as soon as you can ditch the company for a more friendly one.
I had some brilliant Powerflow exhaust work done on my Honda Civic a few years back so want to go back to the fitter who done that work. Can you tell me how well the Powerflow system works on your Jag, does it behave well on Mway without drone etc.
-
Thanks for reply
I was going to go with Powerflow with the same bore size just abit smaller boxes just to lift the sound a little.
The company is Post Office Insurance I have only just gone with them as the quote was £100 cheaper than Avia who I have been with for years & never had any increase due to air filter mods & Exhaust.
I have a feeling that Im not going to be happy with this company & yes I think they would be the sort to get out of any claim if they could fine a small reason.
-
I am looking to change over the two rear back boxes for stainless one's but my insurance company will not amend my policy unless I tell them exactly what changes it will make to the power of the car. I didn;t think just changing those two boxes would make any difference at all so what do I tell the insurance company.

Hi Mark,
Sit in the drivers seat and feel underneath the panel a bit below knee level on the left.
Very easy when you have done it once.
Peter.
Thanks will have a go tomorrow

Where do you plug the fault reader into I can't find it so cant plug my bluetooth reader to see what codes were on the car.
-
No, not at all.
A bit fiddly of course but even with the shovels I have on the end of my arms it was a reasonably straightforward job Mark.
Great I also have shovels for hands so will give it a go once I get my bulbs delivered.
-
I changed my bulbs with absolutely no problem without dismantling anything other than lifting the plastic panel across the headlights which is simply four plastic screws.
Anything that was particularly difficult during installation ?
-
Just ordered some new good quality headlight bulbs as they were on offer at Euro carparts, I thought that it would just be a simple job but a simple search tell's me otherwise with talk of taking lamp housing out etc.
I am hoping that someone will tell me its easy, please.
-
That's a thought might try that.
I find it odd that the jacking point would butt upto plastic as per workshop manual pictures.
-
I'm a little confused
looking at the workshop manual for jacking points it points to a shaped piece under next to the scissor jack point at the rear wheels but the bit the manual points to is made of plastic, is this just a cover that butts upto metal under so you rest the jack plate on the plastic.
Any pics would be a great help before a cause damage.
-
Firstly I apologise if this has been covered but thought I would share.
I've been scratching my head trying to work out how you get the touch screen phone menu to pair as I see nothing in my manual. After some searching I found out that you need to go into the phone screen press # # 3 # star # then press the green call button you should now see pairing on the screen when your phone sees Jaguar pair your phone & input 1313 when asked for code.
Just worked for me

Thanks everyone.
I have checked again & see the control unit in the boot is Jaguar but maybe the fronts were fitted after market I will contact the dealer & ask him to take a look as I have only had it two day but I am loving the car.
-
Don't have a button in the overhead console as listed in manual ?
It has front & rear sensors & a Jag control module in boot where spare wheel is.
Reversing sensor did work when I picked the car up & it did do a continuous bleep today but just does not work.

Yes I use the term "Lets take the Jag" never really thought about it until I read this post.
